Lapping is a machining process, in which two surfaces are rubbed together.

Lapping is done by repeated movements of a lapping tool under a light pressure against the detail that is being processed. The tools are treated with special abrasives like for example diamond paste. The tools can be chucking, smooth surfaces etc.

This creates a surface with a great surface evenness and high finish. This is mainly used when details have a surface requirement that is impossible to achieve by lathe turning or polishing.

Surface evenness: Ra=(0,025)0,1 – 0,4 µm

We have experiences in lapping all kind of material.
